We’ve partnered with the Royal Shakespeare Company to give away four tickets to experience the hit show My Neighbour Totoro in the heart of the West End with an opportunity to relax and unwind after the show with a night at the unforgettable Cumberland Hotel.

Join sisters Satsuki and Mei as they move to their curious new home in the countryside. Exploring their unfamiliar surroundings, they soon encounter a world of spirits, sprites and magical creatures. Maybe it was all a dream? Or perhaps they really are now friends with the giant, ancient protector of the forest named ‘Totoro’ and his friend the ‘Catbus’…

With ‘blockbuster awe-inspiring puppets’ (Time Out) from Puppetry Director & Designer Basil Twist and Puppetry Associate Mervyn Millar (War Horse), My Neighbour Totoro is brought to you by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi – in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV –  and adapted by Tom Morton-Smith (Oppenheimer) with direction from Phelim McDermott.

The Competition

  1. The competition promoter is South Western Railway Ltd (“SWR”, “we” or “us”) a company established in the UK with a registered office address at 4th Floor, South Bank Central, 30 Stamford Street, London, SE1 9LQ. Registered in England and Wales, company number: 03266760.
  2. The title of the competition is ‘Win a family trip to see My Neighbour Totoro and overnight stay at The Cumberland for 4’
  3. The competition will run from 01/10/25 until 23.59 on 06/11/25  All entries must be submitted before the Closing Date and entries submitted after this time will be automatically disqualified.
  4. SWR reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition at any time.

Competition entry

  1. Entry is free of charge and no payments are required to participate To enter fill in the form and submit an answer to the multiple-choice question provided.
  2. The competition is only open to those who are 18 years or over and who are residents of the UK. Proof of identity and age may be required.
  3. The Company’s employees and their immediate families, the Company’s agents and anyone professionally connected with the prize draw are not eligible to take part.
  4. The Company reserves the right to check the validity of any entry. Entries failing to comply with these rules may not be accepted.
  5. Proof of website submission will not be accepted as proof of entry and no responsibility is accepted for entries that are lost, damaged or delayed for whatever reason, including without limitation due to computer, network and/or user error.
  6. Entrants may enter only once.

The Prize

  1. There will be one winner of the prize. The prize consists of four tickets to see My Neighbour Totoro at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London and a one-night stay for four at The Cumberland, London, including breakfast.
  2. My Neighbour Totoro tickets at the Gillian Lyne Theatre, London are subject to availability and redeemable for Tuesday to Friday performances, excluding peak weeks and Bank Holidays. Where possible the hotel will provide a family room, subject to availability. If a family room is unavailable the hotel will provide two double or twin rooms.
  3. All elements are subject to availability.
  4. At least one person must be over the age of 18.
  5. No other expenses are included and there is no cash alternative.
  6. Full prize must be redeemed by 19th December 2025.

Winner selection

  1. The winner of the prize will be selected at random from eligible entrants.
  2. The winner(s) will be notified within one week of the closing date. The winner will be notified by SWR via the email address entered on the competition form.
  3. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner(s). If the winner(s) cannot be contacted within a week of the closing date or are unable to comply with these terms and conditions, the Company reserves the right to offer the prize to any other eligible entrant.
  4. To request the name and county of the winners, please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to South Western Railway, 4th Floor, South Bank Central, 30 Stamford Street, London, SE1 9LQ within one month of the Closing Date.

Exclusion of liability

In so far as permitted by law, the Company shall not be responsible for and shall not cover nor insure any entrants and or the winner, and third parties from and against any and all actions, claims, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, penalties, fines, judgements, costs, charges and expenses of whatever kind and nature relating to the credit and prizes in any way.

General

  1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Company may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
  2. The Company is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Data Protection Act and apart from fulfilment of the prize for the winner will not pass on your details to any third party without your prior consent.
